Pain Reprocessing Therapy
PRT (Pain Reprocessing Therapy) is a cognitive and somatic therapy designed to help individuals reduce the brain activity that causes neuroplastic chronic pain. This type of pain occurs when the brain becomes rewired to reinforce pain signals, even in the absence of an injury or after an injury has healed. PRT focuses on retraining the brain to stop producing these pain signals. A clinical trial on PRT demonstrated its effectiveness, with two-thirds of participants suffering from chronic back pain reporting being mostly or completely pain-free after undergoing the therapy. This suggests that PRT can be a valuable treatment for addressing neuroplastic pain and improving quality of life for those affected by chronic pain conditions.
