My Approach

I am passionate about working with adults 18 and older that have experienced painful life experiences and want to improve their mental and physical health. I provide a safe environment, using evidence-based modalities for change, and support my clients in processing and healing from these traumas. My clients constantly amaze me with their resiliency- however, having to be "strong" and in survival mode all the time is exhausting, and it's okay to let your guard down with me. I aim to support my clients in not only surviving, but thriving. My clients ultimately achieve a healthier relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them.

I specialize in holistic interventions such as EMDR, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP), and other mindfulness-based and somatic approaches that focus on healing both the mind and body. I also have training in modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, ACT, CBT, and Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy. While I have specialized training in mental health, I believe that each client is the expert on their own life experience. I see us as equals who are on the same team, and approach each therapeutic relationship from a stance of authenticity and connection. I practice from an attachment lens and believe that the therapeutic relationship can heal past attachment wounds and traumas.

Many of my clients have experienced marginalization and exclusion because of their identities, whether that be based on race, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or ability. I am a fierce advocate for my clients and always seek to provide support, whether or not I can personally identify with the type of marginalization that they have been through. I consider educating myself on cultural competency to be a non-negotiable in my ongoing development as a therapist and human.  My practice is anti-racist, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming.
